Endorsement Announcement: Jamie McLeod-Skinner for CD5

We’re proud to endorse Jamie McLeod-Skinner in the May 2022 primary for Oregon’s Fifth Congressional District. Since OWFP cross-nominated McLeod-Skinner in her 2018 Congressional race, she has continued to impress us with her commitment to making Oregon work for all of us – from grassroots fundraising for rural progressives to facilitating people-centered solutions to managing wildfire recovery in Southern Oregon. 

“I’m proud to receive the endorsement of the Oregon Working Families Party. They have been doing the critical work of advocating for Oregon’s families and systemically excluded communities during this pandemic,” says McLeod-Skinner. “I look forward to working with them on these issues in Congress.”

OWFP believes that the newly redrawn CD5 provides a much-needed opportunity for Oregon to have a representative who will listen to and engage with the district and will move forward and advocate for policies that support Oregon’s families and frontline communities. 

“This year, Rep. Kurt Schrader crushed a bill to regulate drug prices, stalled efforts to pass the Build Back Better Act and compared the second Trump impeachment to a lynching. Jamie is the right choice on her record alone, but we believe she is Oregon’s best shot at finally unseating Schrader,” said Danita Harris, interim state director of the Oregon Working Families Party. “We’re proud to support her in the May 17th primary.”
